Kaye Chon

Kaye Kye-Sung Chon is Chair Professor of Hotel and Tourism Management and Director of the School of Hotel and Tourism Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. A former hotel manager and tourism industry consultant, Professor Chon previously held academic positions at the University of Houston, University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Virginia Tech in the US. One of Professor Chon’s co-authored books, Welcome to Hospitality: An Introduction, has been adopted as a textbook in more than 100 hospitality education programmes world-wide. An active member of the scholarly community, Professor Chon is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Travel & Tourism Marketing, Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Research and Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism Research. Additionally, he is the Editor-in-Chief of the Haworth Hospitality Press of New York and of the Haworth Hospitality Book Series. Professor Chon is the past President and Chairman of the International Society of Travel & Tourism Educators, Founder of the Annual Conference on Graduate Education and Graduate Students Research in Hospitality and Tourism, the Biennial Conference on Tourism in Asia, the Pan-American Conference on Tourism , Asia Pacific Forum for Graduate Students Research in Tourism, and Asia Pacific International Council on Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Education.

 

Josef Mazanec

Josef A. Mazanec is professor emeritus of the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) and full professor at the Department of Tourism and Service Management at MODUL University Vienna. He functioned as head of the Institute for Tourism and Leisure Studies of WU (1981-2010). He was a visiting scholar at the Alfred P. Sloan School of Management, MIT (1992). During 1997-2002 he served as the Vice-Rector for Research of WU and in 1997-2000 as the Speaker of the Joint Research Program on “Adaptive Models and Systems in Economics and Management Science” (comprising researchers from WU, Vienna University of Technology, and University of Vienna). He is a founding member of the International Academy for the Study of Tourism and an editorial board member for numerous tourism and marketing journals. His research interests are in consumer behavior, multivariate methods, decision-support systems, and marketing and management science applications in hospitality and tourism.
